The Hummingbird 3D Pro started mass production
in November 2004. After extended testing periods by Peter Chao, CEO
of Century Helicopter Products and Mark Tilbury, the Century
Helicopter Products distributor in the UK, some components needed
additional attention.
After prolonged testing periods, the tail rotor system did not
meet the demands of today's 3D pilots. This resulted in a redesign
along with new machining tools and production equipment. With
endurance testing, some parts were made stronger in order to
survive the rigurous flying needs of a Pro 3D helicopter. The end
result is the best sub-micro helicopter that Century can offer at
this price point. Compared to the production model in November 2004
and the model being offered, extensive changes were made which
resulted in a price increase.
