The Tamiya 1/12 Ducati Desmosedici recreates Ducati's spectacular 2004 MotoGP machine, combining an innovative V4 engine, tubular steel truss frame and unmistakable Italian racing design in a highly detailed scale model.
Please note this is an unassembled plastic model kit requiring assembly; paints, cement and hobby tools are not included and are required to complete the model.
The Desmosedici name refers to Ducati's distinctive desmodromic valve system and its sixteen-valve configuration. Tamiya's model accurately reproduces the unusual engineering of the GP4, with the V4 engine forming a central structural element and the swing arm and rear shock pivots attached directly to the engine. Builders can choose between the machines of Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss.
The Ducati Desmosedici is a fascinating subject for builders who enjoy the engineering behind a racing motorcycle. Its unusual engine-and-frame architecture, removable bodywork and choice of two legendary Ducati riders make this 1/12 scale MotoGP kit particularly rewarding to build and display.
