The Ford F-150 Ranger XLT was originally released as a 1/10 RC kit in 1981. The 1980 Ford F-150 Ranger was the first model of the seventh-generation F-series, featuring angular design cues and a robust ladder frame, prioritising both lightweight and durable construction. The Ranger grade was positioned as the advanced specification, with extensive exterior features such as 2-tone paint and chrome trim, while the optional Free Wheeling Package added unique stripes and a special colour scheme. This re-release inherits the body of the original but features newly moulded side mirrors, wipers, and headlights (with separately-sold LED lights able to be attached), plus an updated front section including the front grille and bumper guards, and a front stealth body mount that eliminates visible front body mount holes for a more realistic look.
LED lights are sold separately and are compatible with this kit's newly moulded headlight housings.
