The DD51 type is a diesel locomotive that appeared in 1962, and is active as a standard type for non-electrified sections.
Regular operation ended in March 2021, and it is now used for temporary trains and rail ballast transportation.
The DD51 of the Yonago driver's office was active in towing passenger trains and freight trains such as the sleeper limited express "Izumo" and 50 series.
